When It Begins
It doesn’t take long in the Lone Star State to get your first experience with hail — especially if you find yourself out here during the spring. While we’d be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn’t love a warm, Texas spring, it’d be much harder to find someone who says they love the storms that come with this wonderful weather. Think about it: you’re out for a relaxing Sunday drive, minding your own business when — out of nowhere — comes dark, angry skies and everything around you that’s not attached or weighs a considerable amount is now flying eye level or has gone clear over your head. Being in a car at this juncture may very well be one of the safest places if you can’t get inside a more stable structure immediately. Now, we’re not here to rehash those boring, black-and-white safety videos from the wheeled-in TV from middle school (although we do want you to be safe during one of Texas’ (in)famous spring and early summer storms), but we should stress that dent removal may be the least of your worries if you don’t either stay in your car, pull under a sturdy structure, or get your behind inside as soon as possible. What does all of this have to do with dent repair, you ask? Quite a bit! If you’re ready for the exciting next paragraph in dent removal for hail damage, keep on reading.
The Blind Eye of the Storm
News Flash: storms and extreme weather events rarely choose course based on where the least amount of humans live or where their cars are parked. It’s not ideal, but, hey, it’s what we’re dealing with. If you’re in Texas during the spring, you know how quickly the skies and weather can change. Since we’re operating under the assumption that we’ve made it pretty clear that a Texas spring can be unforgiving to our cars’ paint and glass, we’re going to go into a few examples of the types of damage that can be caused by these indifferent storms and, hopefully, illustrate that no matter how much hail life throws our way, we can handle it.
Dents, Dings, and “Dangs!”
If you find your car has fallen victim to hail damage, is in serious need of dent removal, and your first reaction is some exclamation other than the sound of you simultaneously stubbing your toe and walking nose first into a door, then you’re in category all to yourself. After you verbally get a (healthy) dose of frustration out, take the time to properly survey your car’s hail damage. But, do be very careful when touching your car; sometimes, chips and/or shards of glass can find their way into the smaller cracks and crevices of our cars. These narrow spaces include the area between our cars’ windshields/rear windshields and body, atop or collected around our windshield wipers, the hood, and just about any other place you might find leaves, small rocks, and other goodies thrown at your car.
When inspecting your car, take the time to check for any damage that may have pierced the paint and gotten into the car’s interior. This can only happen if the hail has been large and heavy enough to break through any of the glass in your car. If this is the case, don’t get in your car and drive if you can help it. We know that might sound pretty obvious, but our years in the auto glass repair business have taught us that if you really wanna see people get hot under the hood, tell them they can’t drive their hail-damaged car to get it fixed. Recognizing this trend early on, we Hail Gurus decided it’d be pretty cool if we could provide our customers with a car or truck to use while we work our hail damage dent removal magic. Now, when the hail damage your car has suffered drives you to your wit’s end, you drive away in your free rental car — all part of the Hail Guru’s dent removal process.
